Tree Topping

The goal of our tree topping service is to help our central Ohio area clients have a safe, and healthy tree for years to come!

Topping a tree is the removal of the highest point on the central stem of a tree, called the Leader, and the upper main branches of the tree. They are usually sheared off at a uniform height. The initial result of tree topping is an unsightly tree with thin, upright branches at the top, called water sprouts. *This is ONLY TEMPORARY, but something we want you to be aware of when considering tree topping.

Tree topping enhances the structure and future appearance of the tree, preventing it from developing broad or fragile branches. Topping prevents branches from crossing each other, growing with weak crotches, and stops them from competing for space in the crown.
